Did you know that if you Google the phrase, "the most lesbian place on the planet," that it turns out to be Ikea, the Swedish furniture store?
No kidding. There's only one web site that comes up, and it says: Ikea.
Pretty weird. We thought that our local food Co-Op would be the first listing.
So, why did we find this out? Well, we're going to Northampton, MA, which is, by all third hand reports, the actual Most Lesbian Place On The Planet, and we wanted to be prepared. You know, learn the local customs and greetings. That sort of thing.
If invited to dinner, should we bring cake? We're mostly good girls and wouldn't want to offend.
So, just to be sure, we're going to have a lot of questions to ask Donnie when we appear on his radio show, even though, from the looks of him, he's probably not a lesbian. (but who are we to judge?) Try listening on the web. Take notes. Maybe we'll all learn something.

Then, after all that enlightenment, we're racing over to Easthampton, which, on the map, being somewhat below and to the right of Northampton, is probably still a pretty left of center place.
We don't know if Southampton or Westhampton have a wobble to their plumb lines, but we promise to research all of this to the best of our abilities and issue a full report very soon. We intend to cross reference our findings using dusty tomes written by someone's ancestor who came to this country fleeing intolerance (come all ye Daughters of The American Revolution), detailed drafts from the Salem witch trials, reflections on how burning Sappho loved and sang by the wine dark sea, and the newest Ikea, Swedish Design catalogue. Keep in touch.

And, as if that wasn't enough (and it probably was), the very next day we're off to Brattleboro, Vermont.
Vermont, for those of you who have never been there, is nothing more than New Hampshire turned upside-down. Just check the map. It's unmistakable.
As the show is in late March, we hope to be able to take advantage of not only real Maple Syrup, but vast quantities of mud as well.
It turns out that being rock stars is not as glamorous as it looked in the brochure. Now, if we can just keep an eye out for a nice, clean gas station...
